Genting Island Beach known beautiful. But Indonesia also has a beach that is often referred to as Malaysia's national beach duplicating, is Carocok Beach. This beach is located 2 kilometers from the Painan market. This beach already very popular in West Sumatra. Carocok Beach is a major attraction in the Pesisir Selatan District.

According to reports Pasha Ernowo, as quoted from Okezone.com, Monday (21/01/2013), many people believe the beauty of the Carocok Beach in Painan is not inferior to the beauty of the Genting Island Beach in Malaysia. Except Genting Island Beach is managed by a professional.

In the region of Carocok Beach, Painan also there is a rock island that is connected to the end of Langkisau Hill. Namely is Batu Kareta Island.

Batu Kareta Island is the tip of the Langkisau Hill towards the sea. The island is connected to the mainland of Carocok Beach. Before the bridge was built, The Batu Kareta Island can only be reached by foot at low tide. And when the tide, Batu Kareta Island has become an island separated from the mainland of Carocok Beach.

According to the story of the local people, Batu Kareta Island origin of the name is taken from the form of stone similar to a bicycle wheel tracks (kareta, in Minangkabau language) located on the south end of the Batu Kareta Island. Some say that the bike trail the Portuguese, those who say that the bike trail from the Dutch masters down at Batu Kareta Island before going into Painan.

But the story is just a mere story. Actually happens is these traces due scour sea waves crashed violently on the stone, which from year to year continue to erode the rock.
