Historically, the Dutch colonial times never operated a gold mine in Salido Ketek. Gold mine is managed by the VOC (Dutch) for about 150 years. Gold mine is one of the oldest gold mines in Indonesia.

PESISIR SELATAN DISTRICT is one of 19 districts/cities in West Sumatra, with an area of 5749.89 km2. Regency Pesisir Selatan Region is located in the southern part of West Sumatera Province, stretching from north to south by 234 km long coastline.
Pesisir Selatan District, the north is bordered by the city of Padang, the east by the District of Solok and Jambi Province, south of the Province of Bengkulu and the west by the Indonesian Ocean.
