One of the beaches attractions in the Pesisir Selatan District which not widely known by tourists is teh Sungai Nipah Beach. The white sandy beach is located in the Batang Kapas Sub-District, right on the edge of the road, about 30 minutes from Painan, the capital of Pesisir Selatan District.

Sungai Nipah Beach has its own charm, especially for family tourism, as it has a clean and white sand, and blue sea water. Typically, every weekend or holidays, many families who come for day trips to the location of this beach with children.

The uniqueness of the Sungai Nipah Beach is the existence of a small island in the Indian Ocean, about 4 kilometers from the beach. The island looks like a snail crawling, towards the south of the Sungai Nipah Beach. Local people called the "island snail" is the name of Batu Nago Island.

Besides Sungai Nipah Beach, there are many more other attractions in Batang Kapas Sub-District. Among these are the Taluak Tampuruang Beach, Taluak Kasai Beach, Sungai Bungin Bay, Lubuak Kuali, and others.
