Batu Kareta Island, connected by a bridge
Carocok Beach in the Pesisir Selatan District, West Sumatra, has a relaxed atmosphere that makes at home. But not only that, this beach also has some attractions that can be enjoyed by the tourists. Mazri Tanjung tell his experience by Detiktravel, Wednesday (31/10/2012).

The sky was clear, the wind blows gently sloping beach. Sparkling white sand exposed to the sun. Waving palm unsteady, as if signaling to nature that there are visitors who came to relieve fatigue. This relaxed atmosphere is recorded immediately when I just set foot on the Carocok Beach, Painan, Pesisir Selatan District, West Sumatra.

Travel about 1.5 hours from the city of Padang is not tiring at all. On the winding road along the 77 km, tourists are treated to views of nature "rancak bana". The left side is dominated tropical forests and fields owned by local residents. On the right side, lie the exotic waters of the Indian Ocean. An unforgettable view.

Carocok Beach just 2 km from the center of Painan, precisely in the IV Jurai District. The beach is always crowded with tourists, especially during the holiday season. Access to the beach is very easy and convenient. Especially after the Pesisir Selatan District Government completes supporting facilities for the comfort of tourists. Some culinary shop standing there. There are also toilets are quite clean, not far from the beach.

In addition to beach atmosphere that makes travelers feel relaxed, Carocok Beach also has some attractions that can be visited by tourists. Just a few meters off the beach, there is a cluster of coral islands connected by a bridge to the tip of Langkisau Hill. The hill is also a prominent attraction in Painan.

A wooded cluster of coral is called Batu Kareta Island. On the way, travelers need not cross oceans. The local government has built bridges linking several attractions in Carocok Beach. No need to fear suffering because some shelters have also been built. Stay on foot, you will get to Batu Kareta Island.

Cingkuak Island
Do not stop there, travelers can also stop by the Cingkuak Island. The distance is only 200 meters from the Carocok Beach. Here, tourists can see the ruins of the Portuguese fort relics. Local people believe, this is where the Portuguese army first set foot on Sumatra. Some of the tombs and inscriptions become silent witnesses Portuguese trail here.

To reach the Cingkuak Island, local fishermen used their boats rent. Not expensive anyway, just only Rp5000-10000 per person. Besides enjoying the natural result of God's creation, tourists can perform a variety of other marine activities. Swimming, fishing, diving, or simply observe colorful fish milling around the Carocok Beach. Some inns are also available for travelers who want to stay overnight.
