DEVELOPMENT of Painan City as a center of government Pesisir Selatan District is expected to be more rapidly again in the near future. The change in the direction of that development has been seen from the changes in the function of land use from agricultural land into settlement and trading business land.

This was conveyed Pesisir Selatan's Regent, Nasrul Abit at the time of inauguration Wali Nagari Painan, Harwal Nurdin Datuk Rajo Johan, on Monday (04/01/2010),
as reported PadangMedia.com. According Nasrul, a few years to come, Painan will grow into a centers of economic growth, goods and services, education and tourism center, as well as central government.


"From the direction of urban development in recent years, Painan well as central government, is expected to grow into centers of economic growth, goods and services, education centers and tourism. The direction is already evident from changes in land use within the city, from the former agricultural land into settlement, shops and other trading business," said Nasrul.

Nasrul hope, as a supporter Painan towards more developed urban areas, expected growth of some support facilities such as shopping centers, restaurants, hotel business and tourism facilities, and facilities of adequate transportation.


Nasrul admit, the constraints faced at this time to the development of Painan towards progress is the limited constraints of land. For that, considered collectively, the right solution to realize this. Nasrul also stressed the potential for very large of Painan to serve as a Tour City area that could become an icon of Pesisir Selatan District.


"Constraints of land in Painan let swatch right solution together. We must realize the enormous potential contained in Painan that can become a Tour City and became an icon of Pesisir Selatan District," he said.


Painan City is kenagarian territory included in the administrative Jurai IV Subdistrict. Painan serve as the administrative center of Pesisir Selatan District. Outstanding tourism potential in this area, among other attractions Cerocok Beach, Langkisau Hill, Cingkuak Island, Batu Kereta Island, Timbulun Waterfall, Sungai Nipah Beach and others.
